Why You Shouldn’t Be “Politically Correct”.

Political correctness is an Orwellian movement to control language and therefore stifle debate on difficult topics. Should we be sensitive to how others might feel about a particular subject? Sure. One should never seek to intentionally cause another distress. Should we therefore completely avoid using potential trigger words? Not necessarily. Doing so robs us of the opportunity to explore why these words impact us and actually gives them more power than they probably deserve.
